Michael had a busy weekend. Last Friday, he had his regular checkup and learned his is now up to 6 lb, 12 oz! He had his baptism and was a little angel throughout the ceremony. After he got dunked with the holy water, he fussed a little, but that was it. To keep everyone in the loop, Michael has been going to Children's Memorial on a weekly basis because his GGT level is high (an indicator that means something might be going on with his liver.) Last week, we were told he needed a liver biopsy because the other tests had been exhausted (all is coming out normal); however, we learned this morning that one of the critical tests that was sent to Mayo hadn't been run, so they are running it this week. If the results show that it's genetically normal for Michael to have a high GGT, then he is fine and doesn't need anymore tests. If not, then we will be doing the liver biopsy by the time he is 6 weeks old to try to figure out what the problem might be. We appreciate everyone' s thoughts and prayers. Michael continues to do really well in all other aspects though and is a pleasure!
Michael is 3 weeks old on Thursday, 9/27 and has already told Dan and me that he wants a blog, so here it is. Today, Michael had a bath and actually seems to not mind it anymore. Like would be a stretch, but we are getting there. He went on a walk around the neighborhood too. Quite the eventful day. Michael was getting some tummy time and rolled over from his tummy to his back today! Dan, Colleen and Michael in the hospital. Michael lounging with Daddy. Strike a pose. Getting some sunlight to get rid of that annoying jaundice!
